2023: Travel Year Review

The calendar has turned to the last month of 2023….December is here, time for family gatherings as well as reflection.

Our family of four traveled more this year than any of the past 5, before we became a family of four. Admittedly, as parents of two toddlers under 6 years old, we weren’t always chomping at the bit to plan an extravagant vacation requiring airline travel. Fortunately, 2023 completely changed our outlook on family travel, leaving us with the desire for more. In all honesty, it was more of a mental hurdle than anything - worrying about how the kids would do in a crowded airport and then “stuck” in an airplane seat (we have very, very active kids and sitting still is never on their agenda). You know what? They did great on every flight we took. Yes, a couple of meltdowns happened - the worst one over having to empty water bottles going through TSA. We now have a treasure trove of memories, hundreds upon hundreds of photographs, and a growing hunger to travel more in the future. Here’s a quick re-cap of our travel this year. These trips will be covered in more detail in future posts + some deep dives on the podcast (Disney will be a multi-parter!). We hope you enjoy our adventures!
